System requirements and usage
For the cloud version of coovi you need a Windows PC with a modern Internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, MS Internet Explorer, MS Edge). To be able to make high quality video recordings with your PC or laptop, you should use a device with at least an Intel i5 CPU (1.8 GhZ) and 8 GB RAM.
Simply fill out our contact form or give us a call. In a first appointment/webinar we will give you useful insights into the platform and discuss your intended application scenarios. We’ll gladly provide you with the access to free demo account if desired. Should questions arise during the test phase, please feel free to contact us at any time. Afterwards you can decide whether coovi is suitable for your purposes.
coovi is a web-based application and does not require any pre-installed applications. At the first start only an .exe file needs to be downloaded and executed. This will automatically download the required dependencies and get your PC/laptop ready for video recording.
Your browser should be a current version of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, MS Internet Explorer or MS Edge. We support many other browsers (e.g. Opera), but do not actively include them in our tests.
You can run coovi in the cloud (our cloud provider is Hetzner Online GmbH Germany) or on-premises, on your own servers (on request).
Video-Creation
coovi supports all common file formats, e.g. PowerPoint slides, PDFs, Word and Open Office documents as well as various image and video formats: .ppt, .pptx, .pps, .pdf, .mkv, .flv, .avi, .mp4, .mpg, .mpeg, .wmv, .3qp, .3q2, .mov, .ogv, .mvb, .doc, .docx, .odt, .swx, .sdw, .odp, .sxi, .sdd, .sdp.
coovi offers you different combinations to create your own learning videos. You can record your screen with the screen recorder, record yourself with the webcam or both in combination. Furthermore, existing PowerPoint presentations can be uploaded and converted into a video format. In addition, it is possible to automatically integrate comments from PowerPoint presentations as audio files into the video or to present your documents personally.
You are on the go and want to record a video? No problem with coovi! Use the mobile WebApp to create video recordings with your mobile/tablet and upload your videos directly to the platform.
Additionally coovi offers, the conversion of your Office/PDF documents into slideshows. Slideshows are not videos, but digital picture galleries in which any number of documents are lined up in a presentation.

Yes, the recording application of coovi allows you to take screen, webcam and hybrid recordings (parallel screen & webcam recording, so-called “Picture-in-Picture”). In addition, the chroma key effect (“green screen”) can be applied in webcam and hybrid recordings.
Yes, thanks to our built-in collaborative editing feature, you can invite colleagues to create topics and videos. Not only can they customize your theme data (such as titles), but they can also contribute videos or edit your recordings for you.
In the corporate environment, it often happens that information becomes outdated without being noticed, because editorial responsibility is missing or the effort of maintenance is too high. With the configurable “validity” coovi offers a useful solution to this problem. Thanks to this function, you can be automatically reminded to check your contributions (e.g. uploaded videos) for validity/correctness. You can choose whether invalid/expired posts should be automatically deactivated or only marked as “obsolete”.
Video distribution
Every contribution on coovi has a so-called “embed link” (iFrame), via which the contribution can be integrated into other systems (e.g. Wiki, Sharepoint, WordPress, own website, etc.).
Topics and trainings in coovi can be exported from the platform via SCORM format (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) (ZIP download). Using this standard ensures that the content can be easily integrated into your own LMS.
We currently support SCORM version 1.2. Should you need a more recent SCORM version, please contact us.
The coovi video platform is designed exactly for this application! Whether with or without user login, private sharing or a hidden publication – coovi offers you all the freedom to easily provide video content.
Every contribution on coovi can be conveniently shared directly by e-mail. The platform generates a direct e-mail link for your e-mail program (e.g. Outlook) or sends the e-mail directly via the platform.
If a user is deleted from the platform, a workflow is available to transfer the contributions of the deleted user to another user.
If users report a contribution to the platform, e.g. due to offensive content, the platform can automatically block the contributions. At the same time, users with the role of editor receive a notification about the notification/blocking of the post and can act accordingly.
To guarantee your viewers an optimal viewing experience, we send your videos to an automatic video production before publishing. You don’t have to be active for this, everything happens at the push of a button: create cover pages, logo branding, add jingle, cropping, etc. – To ensure that every device is supported, we also create different video resolutions. You can then publish the finished product on the platform with just one click. Smart, right?
Data security & data protection
In the cloud version of coovi your data is stored in the German data centre of the data centre operator “Hetzner” (GDPR compliant ans ISO certified). Our backup storage is also located in Germany.
Your data is stored with multiple redundancy on encrypted hard disks. This also applies to our backup storage, where both the hard disks and the files themselves are encrypted.
The videos are and of course remain your intellectual property at all times. We have no rights whatsoever on your video material and do not make use of it in any way.
The results of the quiz can only be viewed by people with the role of trainer. There is also the option to make the list of participants anonymous so that clear names are hidden even for the trainer.
Customer Support
Customer service is a top priority at coovi. In addition to an introductory webinar, you will also have access to our tutorial videos that explain the numerous functions of coovi. On request, we will of course also visit you and train the users on site.
During business hours you can reach us by phone or e-mail. Outside business hours you can of course still send us an e-mail at any time.
Termination
Your contributions (videos) can be made available to you in the form of a download after termination. Afterwards we will irretrievably delete all inventory data and backups of your data.
You can continue to use the data, which was made available to you by download after the cancellation, as you wish.
At the moment we can only provide the Data via download.
